1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Entangled ("the App," "the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Eligibility
To use Entangled, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Be legally able to enter into a binding agreement.
- Not be prohibited from using dating or social networking applications under the laws of your jurisdiction.
- Not have been previously banned or removed from the Service.
By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet all eligibility requirements.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current information during registration and to update it as needed. You may not transfer your account to another person or operate more than one account.
4. User Conduct
Entangled is a consent-focused, respectful community. You agree to:
- Treat all users with respect and dignity.
- Obtain and respect consent in all interactions.
- Not harass, threaten, stalk, bully, or intimidate any person.
- Not engage in hate speech, discrimination, or targeted abuse based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or relationship structure.
- Not impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity, age, or relationship status.
- Not solicit money, promote commercial services, or send spam.
- Not use the Service for any illegal purpose.
5. Ethical Non-Monogamy Community Standards
Entangled is built for the ethical non-monogamy community. We ask all users to:
- Respect all relationship structures. Whether someone practices polyamory, open relationships, swinging, relationship anarchy, or any other form of consensual non-monogamy, their choices are valid and deserve respect.
- Practice transparency. Be honest about your relationship status, boundaries, and what you are looking for.
- Honor agreements. If you use the Agreement Builder feature with partners, respect the boundaries you have established together.
- No judgment or shaming. Do not disparage, mock, or shame other users for their relationship choices, preferences, or boundaries.
6. Content Policies
User-Generated Content. You retain ownership of content you post, including photos, profile text, and forum posts. By posting content, you grant Entangled a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content within the Service.
Photos. You may only upload photos of yourself (or your couple, for linked profiles). Photos must not contain nudity in public-facing profile sections, illegal content, or images of minors. Disappearing photos are subject to automatic deletion per our ephemeral messaging system.
Forum Posts. Community forum contributions must follow the community guidelines. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms or is reported and confirmed as inappropriate.
Prohibited Content. You may not post content that is illegal, sexually exploitative, promotes violence, contains malware, or infringes on the intellectual property rights of others.
7. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using Entangled, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Subscriptions & Payments
Entangled offers a free tier and optional premium subscription plans. Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store and processed by Stripe.
- Free Tier: Core features including profile creation, discovery, matching, messaging, and community forum access.
- Premium Plans: Additional features such as unlimited super likes and advanced filters. Pricing and features are displayed in the app at the time of purchase.
- Billing: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are provided for unused time.
- Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with their App Store refund policies.
9. Account Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or permanently terminate your account if you:
- Violate these Terms of Service or Community Guidelines.
- Engage in harassment, abuse, or threatening behavior.
- Post prohibited content.
- Create multiple accounts or evade a previous ban.
- Use the Service for fraud, scams, or illegal activity.
- Receive repeated reports from other users after review.
You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.
10. Intellectual Property
The Entangled name, logo, design, and all associated intellectual property are owned by Entangled. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of any part of the Service without prior written permission.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
User Interactions. Entangled is not responsible for the conduct of any user, whether on or off the platform. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users. We encourage you to exercise caution and good judgment when meeting people through the Service.
No Matchmaking Guarantee. We do not guarantee that you will find matches, dates, or relationships through the Service.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Entangled, its owners, officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Entangled and its affiliates from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
14. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts located in Denver, Colorado. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
